AOC Sponsored Outreach Initiatives
We are fortunate to have a team that is passionate about community outreach. Our staff often live in the communities we serve, so they play a crucial part in identifying the needs, contributing to the cause, and enthusiastically volunteering their time and energy to ensure that each outreach event is a success.
AOC Free Clothing Drive
Our Free Clothing Drives have been a huge success. When we put out a company-wide ask for gently used clothing donations, we receive an overwhelming contribution of quality items, including shoes, coats, sweaters, accessories, and so much more. We set up our clothing drives as shopping experiences with items neatly displayed and organized on racks so that people can make their choices in a dignified manner.
AOC Holiday Food Drives
AOC staff members really shine during our annual Holiday Food Drive. They do everything from shopping for food, assembling boxes, getting the word out, and distributing the packages. Access to food is a continuous problem for hurting communities so we strive to do our part by bringing an extra measure of holiday joy to families in need.
AOC Outreach Partnership
In 2017 AOC extended its charitable reach through our support of outreach programs sponsored by Compass Community Church in southern Ohio. Compass shares our outward focused values so committing yearly financial support to their remarkable outreach projects was an easy decision.
Some of the Compass Church projects that AOC has donated to, include:
- Annual Thanksgiving Food Basket Outreach that has fed over 1,300 families in the past four years.
- Spring Break the Hunger, which provides much needed food items to students during spring break, benefitting more than 1200 students since 2017.
- City Lights, a Christmas outreach that raised $10,000 in 2018 and $7,000 in 2019 for two families struggling with the challenges of caring for multiple special needs children.
- The Cancer Warrior Initiative, which promotes self-care as an important part of healing for women fighting cancer. They raise funds to provide free spa services for these courageous women and their caregivers for an entire year.
- Esther Marie Hatton Center for Women Suitcase Outreach, which provided 75 suitcases, each filled with essentials such as bath robes, towels, under clothes, and toiletries for 75 homeless women.
- Princeton School District Underwear Drive, which donated underclothes and socks for elementary school children in need.
